Elementouch is a new three-dimensional periodic table of the elements. The element names are continuously arranged on three circular surfaces representing the electron orbits of an atom. In this way, the properties of each element in its typical ionic state can be seen more clearly than in the conventional planar periodic table. Elementouch is an invention of Professor Yoshiteru Maeno at Kyoto University, a physicist specializing in superconductivity. You can make your own Elementouch by using the patterns downloaded from this homepage. |
